Shady Creek RV Park and Storage is a charming gem hidden north of Dallas in Aubrey Texas. When it comes to the DFW metroplex there are plenty of parks around however we found that nearly all of the high rated parks have no long term rental space available. Not only that but they often have waiting lists that get MASSIVE! That being said Shady Creek RV Park and Storage is a great option that seems to have more turnover than the others in the metroplex. This park has much to offer, take a look.
Location
Shady Creek RV Park and Storage is located at 1893 FM 1385, Aubrey, TX 76227 just off of US 380 W/E. Nearby (within ~15 minutes) you will find a plethora of stores and restaurants including Kroger (grocery if you are not familiar with the south), Lowes, Walmart, Pharmacies, Outdoor stores and more. To get into Dallas proper you can quickly run down the DNT (Dallas North Tollway) although this can be an expensive toll route if you do not have a tolltag but it will get you there quickly. Apart from Dallas this spot is perfect for getting to Denton, which is a college town with everything you would need, and Frisco, which is a pristine city with a mall and sport centers (soccer/baseball/hockey) along with everything else you would expect.
As usual check the bottom of this post for a detailed map.
Pros
- Large washer/dryer facilities
- Shower facilities
- Weekly Propane delivery
Propane also onsite for those that have outboard tanks - Large campsites
- Two Vehicle parking on site
- Mailboxes
- Friendly staff
- Full Hookup 30/50 amps
- Fenced Dog Park
Cons
- WiFi
The park lets you know they carry complementary ‘basic WiFi’ that allows you to check your email and whatnot, which is pretty accurate. They also do not allow streaming on their WiFi so come prepared with you own WiFi set up if you like to stream anything online. - Flooding
We did have some flooding issues after a couple of days of rainfall, however no damage to the RV or hookups. - Price
This specific park is a bit pricier than some of the other options, but the cleanliness and quality of service here makes up for any extra dollars spent.
Activities
- Fishing
Lewisville Lake and Lake Ray Roberts are nearby and have some great fishing and a few hunting areas. - Swimming Pool
Large pool, closed in winter months - Walking Trail
